The Middle East conflict continues to affect local communities, severely impacting the lives and development of countless children. Many have been forced to flee their homes, losing safe environments in which to grow up, opportunities to learn, and stable lives, while enduring immense psychological distress.

In times of crisis, children are often the most vulnerable. Beyond basic daily necessities, they urgently need protection, care, and psychosocial support to help them heal from trauma, rebuild a sense of security, and regain hope for the future.

With the support of our donors, our teams on the ground have reached deep into multiple conflict-affected areas across Lebanon, Iraq, and the West Bank. We provided emergency medical aid, rebuilt schools, and delivered child protection and psychosocial support services to help vulnerable communities maintain their essential needs and find hope amidst the crisis.

Constantly Responding to the Most Urgent Needs

From March to August 2026, we provided essential assistance to more than 220,000 people in Lebanon, including over 77,000 children. Through various programmes, we helped families meet their basic needs and maintain essential daily living conditions, including:

Food : Helping families access basic nutrition and nourishment

Distributed over 2.7 million hot meals
Distributed over 130,000 nutritious snacks

Water & Sanitation: Reducing the risk of disease

Provided over 17,000m³ of clean water
Distributed over 13,000 household hygiene kits

Child Protection & Psychosocial Support: Restoring a sense of security and hope amidst crisis

More than 58,000 children received psychosocial support services
Over 25,000 children participated in recreational and recovery activities

By providing hot meals to displaced residents, we create a safe space where families can gather and share nutritious, filling meals during these difficult times.

Within our child-friendly spaces in the shelters, children learn to express their emotions and develop social skills through games and activities, helping them gradually heal from trauma in a safe and nurturing environment.
