Dear Reader,
The situation in the Middle East remains unstable as conflict continues to intensify. In my prayers, I often think of the children and families living in fear, surrounded by the smoke of battle.
According to the latest UN reports, approximately 3.2 million people have been displaced by conflict in Iran alone, while more than 1 million people have been forced to flee their homes in Lebanon. Beyond the immediate dangers of war, a growing humanitarian crisis is also emerging. Political instability has driven global oil prices upward, and it is estimated that every US$5 increase in the oil price could significantly raise transportation and fuel costs, depriving nearly 40,000 children of a month’s worth of life saving aid. For communities already facing severe shortages, this adds even more pressure to an already fragile situation.
In the light of these challenges, World Refugee Day on 20 June is not only a moment to raise awareness, but a reminder of the urgent action required.
As relief efforts become more costly and difficult to sustain, World Vision’s ongoing commitment to innovation and technology is increasingly vital to our response. Through early warning systems and data‑driven analysis, we are able to anticipate needs more effectively and allocate resources with greater precision, often before costs escalate further. For us, the use of technology is not about following trends, but about strengthening our ability to safeguard vulnerable lives.
Thank you for your continued generosity in this divided world, placing "Bold Hope" into places that are fragile. Behind every figure in the 2025 annual report attached to this issue lies our shared journey against the tide. What moves me most is your unwavering and steadfast support. May we continue to walk together, protecting every vulnerable yet precious life.
Yours truly,
Amy Fung

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
