Dear Reader,

The Sustainable Development Goals Report 2025 shows that merely 35 percent of the targets of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are on track, while nearly 18 percent have regressed. Even if the progress is not as expected, we firmly believe that this is not the time to give up, because every action can bring hope.

I recently visited the Bidibidi refugee settlement and a reception centre in Adjumani in Uganda, near the South Sudan border, where countless families displaced by conflict endured unimaginable hardship. Yet, all of them demonstrated remarkable resilience. A man who arrived at the reception centre from South Sudan just the day before shared his story with me. He used to be an engineer, lost his entire family in the conflict and is now alone. "Please tell our story, let the world hear our voices," he made a simple request as he spoke, with his eyes filled with determination, reminding us that poverty and hunger are not just numbers, but real lives and real people.

A young mother gently placed her newborn fraternal twins in my arms. I felt her silent hope instantly – even a stranger's touch could carry a hint of blessing for the children's future. Each of their stories inspires us.

Although the world has become complicated and turbulent, we remain at the forefront and will not give up our mission to eradicate poverty and hunger, and our determination to bring essentials such as clean water to our children.

Let’s remember that hope is not a miracle, it is a choice. Please continue to partner with us and rise to the challenge.

Yours truly,
