Since the fifth wave of pandemic hit the city in February this year, grass-roots families are severely affected. As demand for anti-epidemic items become stronger, and the price of food and basic necessities increase due to shortage of supply, additional burdens are added to the already tight economic conditions of these families. Therefore, further to the “Share and Support” Scheme in 2020, through which grass-roots families and vulnerable communities were provided with personal protective equipments, World Vision is partnering with local charities and churches again early this March to give away Anti-epidemic Care Packs with Covid-19 rapid test kits, masks and supermarket vouchers to show our care to the families in need during this particular time.
We are also working with local charities to sponsor the “Share and Care” Scheme that support grass-roots children and families. By providing practical livelihood and psychosocial support to children and families affected by the pandemic, we hope that they can feel loved and embrace hope amidst these challenging times. Volunteers are involved in the implementation of different projects to fight the pandemic together with these children and families, where World Vision will regularly monitor and review the progress and effectiveness of the Scheme.
