World Vision responding to Ecuador quake

World Vision is responding to a devastating 7.8 magnitude earthquake in Ecuador that has killed more than 240 people and injured over 2,500 people. It is the worst earthquake to strike Ecuador since 1987.

Kevin Chiu, Chief Executive Officer of World Vision Hong Kong, says, “World Vision has been working in Ecuador for over 30 years. World Vision has deployed emergency response staff and is working closely with the local government to assist with aid distributions. People in affected area are in dire needs of food, water, shelter and hygiene kits. They need our help urgently!”

World Vision Hong Kong has initially committed US$100,000, together with donations from other World Vision offices, it will be used to provide timely help to the quake-stricken people, such as distributing relief items like hygiene kits, child friendly kits, etc.
