Blast in Beirut Leaves 500,000 people in Dire Need of Help, World Vision calls for humanitarian assistance

The massive explosion in Lebanon's capital Beirut on 4 August has left up to 500,000 people in need of humanitarian assistance. Almost half of Beirut and homes of 300,000 people have been destroyed or damaged. World Vision has been working in the affected areas for 11 years and begun an immediate response to the urgent needs of people of Beirut.

The support from World Vision to children and families affected includes food, household items, and hygiene supplies; temporary shelters and short-term shelter repairs; and psychological support.

World Vision Hong Kong is calling on the Hong Kong community to offer help to those in need during this difficult time.
