Famine Outcomes

In the academic year 2009-2010, over 157 kindergartens, primary and secondary schools and tertiary institutes, with 38,000 teachers, students and parents, learnt about and experience what hunger is like among children in developing countries, and they did it through School Famines. The funds raised by students and the public have been used to support agricultural projects, food security projects and food aid distribution in Nepal, Kenya, Uganda and Sierra Leone.

Food security project in Nepal

Provided seeds to 872 poor households and agricultural training to 1,092 farmers in Nepal. The nutritious vegetables improve children's health.

Agricultural project in Kenya

Food aid in Uganda

Distributed food aid to 31,361 Ugandans for one year and helped improve their health conditions.

Agricultural project in Kenya
