What is the focus of the development programmes of "World Vision China Partners"?
The development programmes of “World Vision China Partners” include:
- Education and Leadership Training: build schools, provide subsidies to poor students, and conduct teacher training.
- Healthcare: construct clinics, provide medical subsidies for poor and sick children, and organise public health education activities.
- Orphans and Special Childcare Services: arrange foster families for orphans, and provide rehabilitation, medical and education services for children with special needs.
- Rural and Urban Livelihood Improvements: build water cellars and water supply facilities, as well as ensure the proper use of natural resources; provide support for left-behind children in rural areas and street children in cities; provide vocational training for rural migrants.
Donations will also be used to support relief and rehabilitation work, and to promote preparedness against natural calamities in China.

What is the scope of work supported by "World Vision China Partners"?
At present, World Vision China Partners carries out development programmes in 15 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities across China, including Xinjiang, Gansu, Ningxia, Shaanxi, Beijing, Tianjin, Jilin, Hebei, Jiangxi, Guangdong, Guangxi, Guizhou, Yunnan, Hunan and Hubei.

How many development programmes does "World Vision China Partners" support?
In 2010, World Vision China Partners supports 63 poverty alleviation programmes across China, benefiting more than 780,000 people.

How does World Vision manage the use of donations in China?
World Vision employs various staff to be responsible for the planning, management, and supervision of development programmes. All programmes are regularly audited by professional auditors to ensure the appropriate use of funds as well as the quality of projects to benefit a greater number of needy people.

How do I learn more about the progress of the poverty-alleviation work?
All “World Vision China Partners” will receive an annual report, and an interim progress report will be available on our website for review by interested parties. The bimonthly English newsletter “Vision Voice” also keeps you up-to-date about the progress and achievements of our poverty-alleviation projects in China. Each year in February, you will also receive the annual summary reviews of World Vision Hong Kong, to keep you informed on our work progress and finances.

How much of my monthly donation is used to help the needy in China?
Your monthly donations are used to support World Vision to implement various poverty-alleviation work in China. For the financial year 2010, World Vision Hong Kong's administration cost was only 1.9% and fund-raising cost was 2.8% of total income; 1.1% was used for public education, which meant 94.8% of the total fund was used for the global relief and development programmes to help those in need.

Are my donations entitled to a tax deduction? Will I receive a receipt for each donation?
Yes, your donations are tax-deductible. To encourage charity donations, the HKSAR Government exempts up to 35% of assessable income or profits on donations to recognised charity organisations, and World Vision Hong Kong is one of them.
Donors will receive a receipt for their donations. In order to reduce administration costs and to better utilise our resources, an annual receipt listing the total donations over the past fiscal year will be issued to every “World Vision China Partner” and other long-term donors in April each year.

You can choose from Direct Debit, Credit card, PPS, crossed cheques, our online payment system, or visit our office in person to make your donations. You can help us save on administration costs by using Direct Debit.

Can I terminate my donations to "World Vision China Partners"?
Yes, you can terminate your donations to “World Vision China Partners” in case of financial or for other personal reasons. Please call our Donor Services Hotline on 2394 2394 for termination procedures.
