Response Process

	Before the crisis: Preparedness Set up early-warning monitor systems in vulnerable areas Train staff through disaster simulations Stock emergency supplies in warehouses across the United States, Italy, Germany, Dubai of United Arab Emirates and other locations
	Within 72 hours: Initial Response World Vision staff closest to a disaster communicates severity and need Rapid Response Team deployed First batch of emergency supplies arrives and distributions begin
	One to six weeks: Emergency response Food and other items distributed to families in need Water and basic sanitation are provided Victims treated by emergency medical teams Set up temporary shelters
	Six weeks to 12 months: Social and Economic Recovery Child protection measures established, including setting up community support for orphans Health and nutrition improved Education resumed Social issues such as resettlement and land tenure addressed Small businesses revived through small loans and training Agricultural activities recovered Alternates for livelihoods explored for the jobless
	12 months to two years: Rehabilitation of Infrastructure Permanent shelters constructed Health care systems improved Community centres built Roads, bridges, and other transportation channels rebuilt Child protection activities continued
	Two years and on: Long-term Community Development Community stabilised Children assisted through sponsorship Sustainable jobs and small businesses created
