Long-term Community Development
To enable poverty stricken children to enjoy a better life, we must first improve their living conditions. World Vision pools together donations from the Child Sponsorship Programme and works alongside communities in "Area Development Programmes", to address the root causes of poverty and support families to develop their capacity to build long-term self reliance.
Alleviating poverty in China
A series of long-term development programmes are being implemented in China using funds raised by "World Vision China Partners", to help impoverished families improve their earning ability and become self-reliant.
Emergency Relief
When disaster strikes, victims in poor areas often suffer heavy losses; they cannot afford the cost of rebuilding their homes and communities. World Vision responds immediately by providing basic necessities to ease the desperate situation for the affected and following with rehabilitation work.
VisionFund (Microfinance for the poor)
VisionFund International was established by World Vision as a wholly owned subsidiary to oversee World Vision’s microfinance work. Your donation to VisionFund provides small loans and skill training to the poor and help them set up small businesses to increase household incomes and improve livelihoods.
Save Children from the Devastation of HIV Epidemic
World Vision has launched programmes and preventive education in many countries experiencing an AIDS pandemic. Children and families affected by HIV and AIDS will benefit from the provision of healthcare, psychological treatment, life and vocational skills training, basic necessities, and preventive education.
Public Education and Advocacy
World Vision Hong Kong organises large-scale advocacy activities and promotes a variety of educational activities in academic areas, the business sector and amongst church groups. We hope to raise public awareness about poverty and gather more resources to help transform the lives of needy children, families and communities.
