The 21st century is an information era and the whole world has become a global village. Yet, surprisingly, there is hardly any news about the increasing poverty, hunger, disease and suffering experienced by billions of people worldwide.
Turning a deaf ear to the needy only exacerbates their suffering.
World Vision believes that promoting public education and advocacy are imperative to change the adverse conditions of the poor.
Hence, World Vision Hong Kong organises large-scale advocacy activities every year, for example, the 30-Hour Famine and Child Health Now. It also promotes different kinds of educational activities, such as thematic talks, School Famine and Skip-A-Meal, in the academic circle, business sector and amongst church groups. We hope to raise public awareness about poverty and gather more resources to help change the lives of the poor
