Mosul Crisis

Children who have recently arrived at the camp wait outside on mattresses. Without enough tents, many have been sleeping here and in the school corridors.

Built in 2015, Debaga camp is located south-east of Mosul and continues to provide shelter for those fleeing from conflict zones.

Children have been seriously impacted physically and mentally by military operations. World Vision provides emotional supports to children by establishment of Child Friendly Space in Qaymawa camp.

Children in Qaymawa camp play games with World Vision staff.

Inside Zelican camp, World Vision’s Child Friendly Space provides a safe space where children can play games, draw and regain a sense of normality amidst the chaos.

“I didn’t draw before because there were no colours,” says Sarah, 11, while colouring. “The first time I drew again was last Sunday. It made me so happy! So today I have drawn a heart. It’s the hearts of all of us coming together again.”
